Snooper Pantera explained
The GPS based Snooper Pantera uses the Snooper AURA speed camera database to alert users to speed traps in the road ahead. Simply download the AURA database to the device and you're ready to be alerted to fixed and mobile speed camera locations right across the UK and in a number of countries across Europe and around the World.
Although looking identical to the Snooper 3ZERO which includes radar, laser and GPS technology, the Pantera is a GPS only device.
Pantera alerts
On approach to a speed trap or accident blackspot location the Snooper Pantera provides spoken voice alerts and on-screen alerts. The spoken voice alerts state the camera type e.g. Truvelo and speed limit, e.g. 50MPH. The Panteras LED text display also shows this information on-screen, before finally going to a countdown in increments of 50metres to the speed traps location.
Snooper AURA speed camera database
Like all Snooper speed camera detectors and sat navs, the Snooper Pantera gets its speed camera locations via the Snooper AURA speed camera database. Updated daily, the AURA database can be downloaded to the device via a PC connected to the Internet with USB connection. It's important you regularly update, as the Pantera GPS database is only as good as the last download.
Countries included in the AURA database are: UK and Ireland, Germany, Holland, Belgium, France, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Luxembourg, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Romania, Russia, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa.
Subscription charges normally apply for the AURA database. However currently there is no charge to download the AURA database to the Snooper Pantera. This offer is free for the lifetime of the product.

Snooper Pantera Questions and Answers
Question: Do you know if the built in power lead connector for the Snooper Pantera will fit the Cheetah c550? They are both 12 volts.
Answer: The connectors on the end that plug into the Cheetah c550 and Snooper Pantera are completely different. In addition while you can plug into a 12/24 volt vehicle cigarette lighter, the adaptor might convert one down to 5 volt while the other might stay at 12 volt. I would suggest and strongly recommend that you ONLY ever use a manufacturers power lead with their device. It will invalidate the warranty if it causes damage.
Snooper Pantera software requirements:
The Snooper Pantera will only operate on Windows computers. Specifically, you must be using Windows XP (32 bit), Windows Vista, Windows 2000, WIndows 7 or Windows 8 / 8.1. Additionally the software will only work with Internet Explorer 6 or Netscape Navigator 6 or above.
The Snooper Pantera will not operate when using Windows 95, 98, 98SE, Millennium, Windows XP (64 bit) or Apple Macintosh operating systems.
