Pogo Alert Plus
Pogo Alert Plus speed camera detector is roughly half the size of the Road Angel Professional Connected and unlike the Road Angel Professional Connected the Pogo Alert Plus features a touch screen very much like the Apple iPhone 4 and iPod Touch Road Angel Professional Connected's party piece is the fact that the device can update itself with new speed camera locations as you drive (no need to connect to a PC), thanks to the inbuilt GSM/GPRS (mobile phone) technology. Whereas to update the Pogo Alert Plus you need to connect to either a PC or MAC computer. Pogo Alert Plus also features a Laser detector for as standard, which isn't the case with the Road Angel Professional Connected. Though a separate Laser detector is also available for the Road Angel Professional Connected, which simply plugs into the back of the device and priced around £55. Speed camera updates for the Pogo Alert Plus are free for 6-months and then priced at £50 per year thereafter. Whilst for the Road Angel Professional Connected they are £4.99 per month with no free period.
Road Angel Gem Plus
Both the Road Angel Gem Plus and Road Angel Professional Connected use GPRS "mobile phone" technology to provide live speed camera updates every few minutes as you drive. Road Angel Gem Plus, the newer of the two also features road speed limits across the UK and a built-in Laser detector.
In addition Road Angel Gem Plus also features eAssist, CameraShare and SpeedShare, these services allow all Road Angel Gem+ users to feed and share information all from your vehicles dashboard. For example by using the unique CameraShare feature, Road Angel Gem+ users can share the LIVE locations of camera vans at the press of a button. If a member of the Road Angel community drives past a live location in the following 2 hours, a live camera van alert will sound. Speed camera updates for the Road Angel Professional Connected are £4.99 per month. Speed camera updates and live services for the Road Angel Gem+ are £99.99 for 12 months, £189.99 for 24 months or £249.99 for 36 months.
