Pogo Alert Plus
Pogo Alert Plus speed camera detector screen size is 1.8-inch, whereas the Road Angel Vantage is 4.3-inch, so there is a big difference in the size of the unit and how much room the unit does or doesn't take up on your vehicles dashboard!
The Road Angel Professional Vantage's party piece is the fact that the device can update itself with new speed camera locations as you drive (no need to connect to a PC), thanks to the inbuilt GSM/GPRS (mobile phone) technology. Whereas to update the Pogo Alert Plus you need to connect to either a PC or MAC computer.
The Pogo Alert Plus also features a Laser detector for as standard, whereas there isn't one available for use eith with the Road Angel Vantage.
Speed camera updates for the Pogo Alert Plus are free for 6-months and then priced at £50 per year thereafter. Whilst for the Road Angel Vantage they are £54.99 for one year, or £129.99 for three years.
Road Angel Gem Plus
Both the Road Angel Gem Plus and Road Angel Vantage use GPRS "mobile phone" technology to provide live speed camera updates every few minutes as you drive.
Road Angel Gem+, the newer of the two also features eAssist, CameraShare and SpeedShare, these services allow all Road Angel Gem+ users to feed and share information all from your vehicles dashboard.
For example by using the unique CameraShare feature, Road Angel Gem users can share the LIVE locations of camera vans at the press of a button. If a member of the Road Angel community drives past a live location in the following 2 hours, a live camera van alert will sound.
Speed camera updates for the Road Angel Vantage are £54.99 for 1 year or £129.99 for three years. Whilst speed camera updates for the Road Angel Gem Plus are £99.99 for 1 year, £189.99 for 2 years or £249.99 for 3 years.
