Essex Speed Camera Location

Mobile Speed CameraNearest Town/village: Southend-On-Sea
Road Name: A127
Direction of Camera: Towards Southend-On-Sea
Speed Limit: 70mph

Speed Camera Details: As you head into Southend-On-Sea on the A127, several hundred yards before the road goes into the 40mph zone (where the static camera is) there is a very small turn off into a country lane. Every Friday night the police position a mobile camera here and park the van out of sight down the turn off. At present here the pavement beside the A127 has been dug up, now the camera is just peeping over the top of the earth making it even harder to see. On Friday 6th September 2002 the camera guy didn't even wear a high visibility jacket, I saw this at 8pm, I again passed the location at 9.30pm and saw the camera van still tucked away along with two HIDDEN marked police cars.
